Poly Pipe - fixtures and fittings

Blue Poly Pipe

The type of PolyPpipe for your pump system will depend on your usage. The blue colour is a type suitable to carry drinking water, is known as potable pipe and within the EU and many other coutries is colored in blue to make it easily identifiable.

In general whilst this type of pipe is not effected by frost or harsh weather conditions, it should be buried in the ground to a minimum depth of 600mm to prevent water from freezing. In general within the UK, surface frost does not penetrate the ground deeper than this.

it is available in a range of diameter sizes, is lightweight, and typically lasts for many years.

Other types of poly pipe are also available with black typically used for irrigation or non-drinking purposes.

This type would be used in any situation where the delivered water from your pump is going to be used directly for irrigation purposes, moving lake water, agricultural sprinkler systems plus a host of other applications.

The pipe is available in a variety of sizes ranging from 15mm to 40mm and even larger and in lengths ranging from 25 meters to 100 meter coils.
Generally, pipe diameters used with the Brumby pump will be in the range -Â 25 to 32mm.

Special push-fit fittings are available to enable easy and strong connections and which can withstand several bar of pressure.
Fittings for poly pipe are inexpensive and come in a wide range of sizes and types: straight connectors, elbows, 'T's etc.
