Geological Surveys to locate water

For us to determine the likelihood of finding water on your property, the quantity which may be expected, and the potential quality of that water South Coast Water recommend that a geological survey of your property be performed.

South Coast Water research your property for possible well or borehole locations, as well as in and around your local area to see what other boreholes or wells exist. We obtain conduct this test remotely, using data provided by the British Geological Survey.

Our Hydrogeologist will then provide an analysis of the ground conditions
of your site and will offer an opinion on ground water and strata.


The report and the likelihood of locating water will give a clear indication of the underlying ground structure and, if the Geological Report is promising, the next stage will be for one of our engineers to visit your site along with a dowser to locate the precise place where your bore should be drilled.

At this point South Coast Water, in conjunction with your dowser's recommendations, will be able to advise you on the flow and the depth of water.
